What’s the drumbeat of your life? This morning I rose early, turned on my favorite Christian band, Rend Collective, and let the music help me praise and worship Jesus. I noticed the drumbeat immediately.
Even though I’ve listened to these songs many times. Today, I noticed the drumbeat in a new way. It was loud and consistent. It had power. It was so noticeable, my attention was fully on the drumbeat. The pattern of strokes on the drum set the pace of the song that I was singing and dancing to. For the whole song, the drum beat in such a way like itself had an insistent outcry of a cause. I realized in that moment both the drum and I were in sync to a specific beat. So it is with our lives. We need to live to the drumbeat of God. But are we? Or are we letting the world be our drumbeat? As believers, we need to let Jesus be the drumbeat of our life. It’s easy to tune our ears to a different beat. The world’s beat is enticing. Being in rhythm with God takes intentional living and listening. Jesus wants to be the drumbeat of your life. Let Jesus be the drumbeat of your life and experience the joy of His beat.
